Droopy eyelids create an illusion of low hanging brows, sleepiness, eyelid puffiness, and excessive upper eyelid skin. Frown lines and crow’s feet are often associated as well. Often, excess eyelid skin is due to both droopy brows and eyelid skin.
Both genetics and aging can cause droopy brows. Some people are born with low hanging brows and eyelids. Aging causes skin laxity, persistent muscle contraction, fat absorption, and even bone absorption, all of which further exacerbate the descent of the brows and eyelids.
